This post introduces an original pattern for a beautiful scarf made in double-bed tuck stitch on a standard gauge machine. The yarn is a silk-mohair blend with a beautiful halo. The resulting scarf is lovely and warm without being scratchy. The pattern is free. Download it here – Pattern 28 scarf – or on Ravelry.
Although the pattern is written for a double-bed machine (a machine with a ribber), a single-bed variation could be worked by leaving the secondary bed stitches out and putting extra needles in work at the end of the bed. This would be a simple pattern to work manually so a good choice if you have a machine without patterning capability.
The name “Pattern 28” derives from the stitch pattern number from an old Passap stitch manual.
